REPO's developers have unveiled exciting plans for the game's future, including a game-changing addition: the "duck bucket." This ingenious invention aims to neutralize the terrifying duck that plagues players. Read on to discover more about upcoming updates and the insightful feedback from the creator of Lethal Company.

REPO's First Update Details

The Duck Bucket: A Player's Best Friend

REPO

REPO's first update introduces a new map and the highly anticipated "duck bucket." In a YouTube video released March 15th, Semiwork Studios detailed their upcoming plans. For those unfamiliar, REPO is a thrilling online co-op horror game for up to six players. Teams must carefully extract items in a terrifying world. Players face the Apex Predator: a seemingly innocent yellow duck that transforms into a fearsome monster when damaged or picked up, attacking for 10 seconds before reverting to its normal form.

The "duck bucket" will serve as a containment solution, preventing the duck from pursuing players and eliminating the risk of accidental monster transformations by teammates. The update will also include new facial expressions and other quality-of-life improvements.

A New Map: "The Museum," and Public Lobbies on the Horizon

REPO

Semiwork Studios also announced a new map, "The Museum," designed to test players' parkour skills. Extraction points will feature clearer boundaries, ensuring players know when loot is safely within the extraction zone.

The developers are actively considering player feedback and working towards implementing public lobbies. They acknowledged the complexities involved, particularly in adding a kick button, which requires significant server-side coding. While challenging, they are committed to incorporating this feature, though it may arrive later than other updates.

Lethal Company Creator Weighs In on REPO

Since its February release, REPO has drawn comparisons to the popular co-op horror game, Lethal Company, due to shared mechanics and themes. On March 15th, Lethal Company creator Zeekers offered valuable feedback on Twitter (X), highlighting areas for improvement.

Zeekers praised the game's fun factor, particularly the collaborative challenge of moving a grand piano through a tight space. However, he suggested improvements: increasing voice chat range and reducing muffling, and adjusting level design in large open areas to better suit the game's mechanics, citing similarities to Phasmophobia. He also addressed concerns about silent enemy approaches, suggesting the need for in-game explanations of enemy behavior.

REPO

REPO, a PC exclusive, is currently the second best-selling game on Steam, behind Counter-Strike 2, boasting over 230,645 concurrent players – a figure approaching Lethal Company's all-time peak. Stay updated on the latest REPO news by clicking the link below!
