Crysis 4 Production Stalled Over Funding Crisis

Crytek has confirmed workforce reductions as part of organizational restructuring, laying off around 60 employees (15% of its 400-person staff) due to financial pressures.
Development Shifts at Crytek
Crytek has temporarily halted development on the next Crysis title while redirecting all resources to Hunt: Showdown 1896. This strategic decision was made in Q3 2024 after evaluating project feasibility.
The studio explored reassigning staff between Hunt: Showdown 1896 and the upcoming Crysis game but determined this approach wasn't viable. Despite implementing cost-cutting measures, layoffs became unavoidable.
Going forward, Crytek will focus on expanding Hunt: Showdown 1896 content while indefinitely postponing the new Crysis installment. Affected employees will receive severance and career transition assistance.
Crytek remains committed to both Hunt: Showdown 1896's ongoing development and advancing its CRYENGINE technology despite these operational changes.
