Deltarune Chapters 3, 4 to Use Saves from 1, 2

Deltarune creator Toby Fox has shared a new update regarding the ongoing console testing for Chapters 3 and 4 of the highly anticipated game. Discover the latest details on progress, save data transfer, and exciting hints about upcoming content.
Deltarune’s Console Testing Progressing Well
Save Data Will Transfer from Demo to Full Release

Toby Fox recently provided an update on his official Bluesky account, confirming that console testing for Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 is still in progress. While the development team continues to address remaining issues, the overall process is moving forward smoothly.
"Still console testing. There are fewer bugs, but there's a lot to go through. (Haven't even tested PS5 yet)," Fox shared, highlighting the meticulous nature of the final stages. He also revealed promising news for players: save data from the free demo (Chapters 1 and 2) on console platforms will eventually carry over to the full release. This feature became possible only recently with the acquisition of necessary technology. "I hope it works!" he added with his signature optimism.
With beta testing showing positive results, a full release could be approaching fast. Fox has confirmed that Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 are set to launch in 2025.
New Character Tenna Teased by Toby Fox

Despite the intense workload, Fox continues to engage fans with playful and insightful social media updates. Known for his internet-savvy humor and self-aware commentary, he recently shared a lighthearted moment involving a minigame he’s been developing.
"I showed my family and friends a minigame I've been working on for DR (Deltarune) and they all described it as ‘a cry for help because your game is not out’," Fox joked, noting that his family assured him it was a compliment—while one friend laughed for "about 10 minutes straight."

This sparked fan speculation, especially since Fox stated in 2024 that Chapters 3 and 4 were already complete content-wise—leading many to believe the minigame might actually be part of the upcoming Chapter 5. Deltarune is expected to conclude with a total of seven chapters.
In the same post, Fox mentioned that the same friend who played Chapter 3 over a year ago said, “I miss Tenna,” to which Fox replied, “man that's something no one in the world has ever said huh.” Tenna is a mysterious character who has not yet appeared in any official release but was first referenced during the 2022 Spamton Sweepstakes campaign for the Child’s Play charity. Fox’s comment strongly suggests that Tenna will make a debut in Chapter 3.

Deltarune, the spiritual successor to the 2015 indie phenomenon Undertale, retains many of the original’s signature mechanics while introducing a fresh narrative and cast. Players follow Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on their mission to restore balance to a fractured world.
