The 28th annual D.I.C.E. Awards celebrated the best in video games from 2024, with Astro Bot dominating the night, winning Game of the Year alongside awards for Outstanding Achievement in Animation, Outstanding Technical Achievement, Family Game of the Year, and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design. Helldivers 2 secured four awards: Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition, Outstanding Achievement in Audio Design, Action Game of the Year, and Online Game of the Year, placing it second in the overall award count. Balatro and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle each received three awards.

Beyond the game awards, the D.I.C.E. Awards recognized two industry giants. Nintendo of America's former Executive Vice President of Operations received the Lifetime Achievement Award, acknowledging his contributions and support for the Starlight Children's Foundation. Insomniac Games founder and president, Ted Price, received the Hall of Fame Award, celebrating his three decades leading the studio and his advocacy for video game creators' First Amendment rights.
