Celebrate Like a Dragon's 20th Anniversary with RGG Studio's Merchandise Voting Project!
Ryu Ga Gotoku (RGG) Studio is giving fans a voice in shaping the commemoration of the Like a Dragon (LAD) franchise's 20th anniversary, set for December 2025. A unique fan voting project allows players to select their favorite in-game items to be transformed into real-world merchandise.
From lingerie and incense to mahjong tiles, karaoke microphones, and even Kiryu's iconic dragon mask, a staggering 100 items are up for grabs. The winning item, chosen from the votes cast between February 8th and March 21st, 2025 (one vote per day), is guaranteed to be produced and released within two years. A subsequent survey will determine the final design of the winning merchandise.
Potential for More Yakuza Remakes?
RGG Studio hinted at broader 20th-anniversary plans in a December 8th, 2024, tweet, echoing the excitement surrounding the franchise's 19th anniversary. Director and Executive Producer Masayoshi Yokoyama expressed gratitude to fans and promised various events and announcements leading up to the milestone. The merchandise voting project is just the beginning. The studio's 10th-anniversary celebrations, which included the announcement of Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami remakes, might foreshadow similar exciting reveals for the 20th anniversary.
