Elden Ring: Nightreign Console Beta Announced
FromSoftware's upcoming title will grant early access exclusively to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S players. Registration opens January 10th, with testing slated for February. This excludes a large segment of the fanbase from early access.
Bandai Namco hasn't publicly explained the omission of PC players from the beta. However, selected console players will enjoy a first look before the official launch.
Elden Ring: Nightreign continues the narrative of its predecessor, introducing a new, ominous setting and gameplay experiences. While console gamers get early access, PC users will need to await further announcements regarding potential future testing opportunities.
A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, stating that the approximately forty-minute session length doesn't allow sufficient time for message interactions. He stated, "We removed the messaging feature due to the limited time—approximately forty minutes—available for sending or reading messages during gameplay sessions."
