FIFA Is Teaming Up With Konami's eFootball For FIFAe World Cup 2024!
Konami and FIFA teaming up for an esports event might be the crossover you didn’t see coming, especially after all those years of FIFA vs PES debates. But it’s happening! FIFA has joined hands with eFootball, Konami’s flagship football sim, to be the platform for FIFAe virtual World Cup 2024.
The In-Game Qualifiers Are Already Live In eFootball!
This year’s tournament is happening across two categories: Console (PS4 and PS5) and Mobile. 18 countries are eligible for the final rounds of the tournament. They are Brazil, Japan, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, England, France, Costa Rica, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Thailand and Turkey.
From October 10th to 20th, you’ll be grinding through three-part in-game qualifiers. Then, from October 28th to November 3rd, the National Nomination Phases will kick off for each of the 18 competing countries.
The final round will happen offline at the end of 2024, Konami hasn’t revealed the exact date yet. And if you don’t hail from one of the 18 countries, you can still take part in the qualifiers until Round 3. You’ll earn rewards like 50 eFootball coins, 30,000 XP and other goodies.

FIFA x Konami’s eFootball Is Amusing!
After years of rivalry, it’s almost ironic to see the two joining forces for an esports event. For context, EA parted ways with FIFA back in 2022 after a decade-long partnership. Apparently, FIFA was looking for a licensing fee of a whopping $1 billion every four years.
It was a huge jump from the $150 million they were getting. Unsurprisingly, the deal fell apart. And following the break-up, EA Sports FC 24 was released in 2023 without the FIFA name. And now, FIFA has teamed up with Konami’s eFootball for FIFAe World Cup 2024.
So, go ahead and dive into eFootball from the Google Play Store. Right now, there’s another special event happening. You can snag a custom-designed Bruno Fernandes and enjoy an 8x match experience multiplier to level up your Dream Team faster.
