Star Wars enthusiasts eager to dive into the first episodes of Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld will need to head over to Fortnite to catch them before they hit Disney+. Epic Games has announced an exciting expansion of its Star Wars offerings, revealing that the premiere of the first two episodes of this much-anticipated animated spinoff will be exclusively available through Fortnite. This move aligns with the studio's strategy to ramp up Star Wars content during its upcoming Galactic Battle season, promising a plethora of themed goodies for players.

You can catch the kickoff of Tales of the Underworld with two episodes featuring Asajj Ventress on the Star Wars Watch Party island starting at 10 a.m. ET on May 2—two days ahead of its Disney+ release. Epic Games is encouraging fans to link their Epic Games and MyDisney accounts, rewarding eligible players with a First Order Stormtrooper outfit. While the full scope of account linking benefits remains undisclosed, Epic hints at additional perks on the horizon.

“Disney and Epic are pioneering the future of social entertainment together, and this expansive Star Wars collaboration offers a glimpse into the type of interactive experiences we envision,” stated Epic Games President Adam Sussman. “We are reimagining what’s possible with immersive storytelling in Fortnite with one of the world’s most beloved franchises - stay tuned for a lot more to come.”

You'll have until May 11 to watch these episodes of Tales of the Underworld, after which the Star Wars Watch Party island will go offline. The island will also host a Battle Arena where players can engage in combat, wielding lightsabers against waves of foes. Viewers who watch both episodes will be rewarded with an exclusive Asajj Ventress loading screen.

Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld is a six-episode series, animated in the style of The Clone Wars, that follows the adventures of Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane. The official synopsis hints at Ventress encountering a new chance at life and a new ally, while Bane is forced to confront his past.

Disney's partnership with Fortnite extends well beyond the Galactic Battle season. In March 2024, Disney acquired a $1.5 billion stake in Epic, setting the stage for long-term collaboration. This investment will not only bring more Star Wars content but also introduce Marvel and Pixar outfits to the popular battle royale game. Notable additions for the next season include Darth Jar Jar and Emperor Palpatine.

Since its launch in 2017, Fortnite has maintained its dominance in the gaming world. Recent collaborations, such as the one with Sabrina Carpenter, have kept the game fresh and engaging, encouraging players to swap their pickaxes for dancing shoes.
