Freedom Wars Remastered: Every Weapon Type Explained
Freedom Wars Remastered: A Deep Dive into Weapon Types
Freedom Wars Remastered allows players to equip two weapons of their choice for each Operation, offering diverse strategic options. With six distinct weapon types, players can tailor their character to any preferred playstyle. The three gun and three melee weapon types are all highly customizable. Let's explore each weapon type's unique characteristics:
Weapon Types in Freedom Wars Remastered
You'll acquire new weapons by completing operations or purchasing them from Zakka in The Warren. While Comrade weapon choices are fixed, Accessory weapons are fully customizable. Changing weapons incurs no penalties or benefits, allowing for frequent experimentation.
| Weapon Type | Traits |
|---|---|
| Light Melee | Quick attacks ideal for fast-paced combat, targeting single enemies. Can sever Abductor limbs without a Flare Knife. |
| Heavy Melee | Wide-sweeping attacks inflicting substantial damage. Well-placed attacks multiply damage against multiple Abductor limbs. Charged attacks launch the player into the air. Slightly reduces movement speed. |
| Polearm | Attacks involve charging through enemies, providing mobility and evasion. Charged attacks launch the polearm for high damage from a safe distance. |
| Assault Weapons | High ammo capacity, perfect as a primary weapon for gun-focused builds. Can be fired while grappled with your Thorne, enabling strategic positioning. |
| Portable Artillery | High single-shot damage but low ammo capacity. Explosive area-of-effect shots can hit multiple limbs for increased damage. Reduces movement speed. |
| Autocannons | High rate of fire with large ammo capacity and magazine size. Individual shots have lower damage, compensated by rapid firing. Reduces movement speed. |
Unlike the player character, your Accessory doesn't need to manage ammunition when using gun weapons. Experiment with different weapon combinations to discover your optimal combat strategy!
