"Guide to Acquiring Trap Tools in Monster Hunter Wilds"
Slaying monsters is thrilling, but to gather every monster part for armor forging in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, you'll also need to master the art of trapping. This requires specific materials, and here's how you can acquire Trap Tools to enhance your hunting experience.
Where to Get Trap Tools in Monster Hunter Wilds
While *Monster Hunter Wilds* doesn't explicitly guide you on trapping monsters or acquiring Trap Tools, if you're familiar with previous games in the series, the process will feel intuitive.
To obtain Trap Tools, head to the Provisions Stockpiler NPC at your Base Camp. Engage in conversation with him and browse through his inventory until you find the Trap Tools, priced at 200 Zenny each. It's wise to stock up on these, particularly if you're aiming to farm specific monsters or capture a variety of them throughout the game.
Remember, Trap Tools are exclusively available for purchase at Base Camp and cannot be scavenged in the wild like other resources.
How to Use Trap Tools
Once you've secured your Trap Tools, it's time to deploy them effectively. You can combine them with a Net (crafted using Spiderweb or Ivy) to create a Pitfall Trap, or pair them with a Thunderbug Capacitor to form a Shock Trap.
Both types of traps are effective, but be mindful that some monsters have resistances. For example, Shock Traps are ineffective against Rey Dau, a lightning dragon, making Pitfall Traps the better choice in this case.
Also, note that you can only carry one Trap item at a time, so timing is crucial—use them when the monster is weakened for the best results.
That's the complete guide on acquiring and utilizing Trap Tools in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. For more tips and detailed information on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
