Haunted Mirror Analysis Reveals Phasmophobia Secrets
Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Risk and Reward
The Haunted Mirror stands out among Phasmophobia's Cursed Possessions. Its benefits significantly outweigh the risks, making it a highly recommended item if encountered during an investigation. Its function remains consistent across game updates.
This powerful artifact reveals the ghost's current preferred room on the map, providing a panoramic view. This significantly speeds up the investigation, allowing for strategic equipment placement before the situation becomes perilous.
Location is key. The Haunted Mirror typically appears hanging on a wall (like in 6 Tanglewood Drive) or resting on the floor in a predetermined spot. Remember, Cursed Objects always spawn in the same location on each map; the randomness lies in which Cursed Object appears.
To utilize the mirror, simply pick it up and use the designated interaction button (mouse or controller) to hold it aloft. The reflection will display the ghost's favored room. However, on Professional difficulty and above, be aware that the ghost's location might shift after a time.
Caution is advised! Prolonged gazing into the mirror depletes sanity. Holding it for the entire duration will shatter the mirror, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your precise location. Use it wisely when your sanity is high and you're prepared to interpret the reflection.
Understanding Cursed Possessions in Phasmophobia
Unlike standard equipment, which safely helps locate and identify ghosts, Cursed Objects offer shortcuts to manipulate the ghost, but at a considerable risk to your character's well-being.
The risk level varies among Cursed Objects. The choice of whether to use them rests entirely with you and your team. There's no penalty for leaving them untouched. Only one Cursed Possession spawns per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).
Seven Cursed Objects exist in the game:
- Summoning Circle
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
