Holiday Cheer in Stellar Blade: Naughty or Nice?
Stellar Blade's Festive Holiday Update: A Cozy Christmas in Xion
Stellar Blade is decking the halls with its holiday-themed update, arriving December 17th! This update brings festive cheer to Xion, offering new costumes, decorations, and a mini-game. Let's dive into the details.
New Holiday Outfits and Customization
Get into the holiday spirit with brand-new Christmas-themed outfits for Eve and other characters! The update includes:
- Santa Dress (Eve)
- Rudolph Pack (Drone)
- I’m No Santa (Adam)
Complete Eve's festive look with a Santa Girl hairstyle and accessories like Snow Crystal Glasses, Wreath Earrings, and Sleigh Ear Cuffs.
Xion's Festive Transformation and Mini-Game
Xion itself transforms into a winter wonderland, adorned with warm lights and festive decorations. The Last Gulp and Eve's camp also receive a holiday makeover, complete with seasonal BGM ("Dawn (Winter)" and "Take me away"). A new mini-game adds to the fun; details are scarce, but it involves targeting a holiday drone for special rewards.
Control Your Festive Fun: Seasonal Content Toggle
This update introduces a valuable option: the ability to enable or disable seasonal content, including the Nier:Automata DLC. Located in the game's Gameplay settings, you can choose from:
- Auto: Automatically enables/disables seasonal content based on the season.
- Disable: Deactivates seasonal content regardless of the season.
- Enable: Activates seasonal content regardless of the season.
Note: Changing this setting requires a game restart from your most recent save.
Mixed Reception: A Celebration with Concerns
The announcement was met with mostly positive reactions, with many players creatively dubbing Eve "Christmas Eve." However, some players questioned the frequency of event updates in a single-player game with a relatively short playtime (around 30 hours). The requirement to restart the game to fully experience the seasonal content also drew criticism.
