Kingambit Joins Pokémon Go in Crown Clash Event Next Month
As you gear up for the Sweet Discoveries event, Pokémon Go is sharpening its blades for the upcoming Crown Clash event, and the timing couldn’t be more royal. From May 10th to 18th, you’ll have the chance to evolve the formidable Kingambit, don a crown or two, and stock up on shinies, all while raking in bonus XP just for evolving.
Kingambit, the Big Blade Pokémon, makes its long-awaited debut during the Crown Clash event in Pokémon Go. To add it to your team, you’ll need to evolve Bisharp, but there’s a twist: Bisharp must be your buddy, and you'll need to defeat 15 Dark- or Steel-type Pokémon in Raid Battles. No need for Bisharp to do the battling - just bring it along for the ride and collect those wins.
Further joining the party are two new costumed Pokémon – Nidoqueen and Nidoking, both wearing shiny new crowns. If you're lucky, you might spot their Shiny versions too. These royal ‘mons will also be taking centre stage in three-star raids, while the one-star lineup includes Sneasel, Klink, and Pawniard.
There’s plenty going on in the wild as well. Keep an eye out for frequent spawns like Slowpoke (which may net you a King’s Rock), Slakoth, Piplup, Combee, Snivy, and Litleo. Pawniard will also be popping up more often, if fortune favors you.
Double XP for evolving Pokémon means it's a great time to clear out that evolution backlog. Plus, event-themed Field Research tasks and a catch-and-evolve Collection Challenge will help you earn extra XP, Stardust, and another shot at Pawniard. Trainers Level 31 and up will even snag guaranteed Candy XL for evolutions once the challenge is complete.
Keep an eye on PokéStops too - event-themed Showcases will let you show off your crown-worthy catches. And to top it off, the Pokémon Go Web Store features a bunch of deals that will help you prepare for this event.
