Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Ending the Feud - Battle of Frogs & Mice Quest Guide
In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the side quest "Battle of the Frogs and Mice" presents an ongoing feud between Prochek and Olbram that you can resolve. Here's how to start the quest and ultimately stop their conflict.
How to Start Battle of Frogs and Mice in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2
To initiate the "Battle of the Frogs and Mice" side quest, you first need to complete either the "Mice" or "Frogs" quests for Prochek and Olbram. Once you've finished one of these, the next quest will become available. To begin, simply speak to Prochek in Tachov or Olbram in Zhelejov, then head to the designated pasture to proceed.
Should You Side With Prochek or Olbram?
During the quest, Henry must choose between supporting Prochek or Olbram. To side with Prochek, meet him in Tachov and say, “Let’s get those Zhelejovites!” To support Olbram, go to Zhelejov and say, “Let’s go and see those Tachovites!”
If you choose to side with one, avoid trying to reconcile them at the pasture, as this will trigger the fight prematurely. However, if you can pass a dialogue check during negotiations, you might cause someone from the opposing side to flee, making the subsequent battle easier. Winning the fight for either side grants you groschen.
How to Stop the Feud
For a more peaceful resolution, you can end the feud between Prochek and Olbram. Before heading to the pasture, ask either Prochek or Olbram if they want to end the feud. Then, travel to Troskowitz and speak with Bailiff Thrush, selecting the dialogue option, “You’d finally have some peace.”
If you pass the dialogue check with Bailiff Thrush, you'll be allowed to access the Troskowitz Chronicle in the scribe’s room. If persuasion fails, you can sneak in to read it, but remember to save your game beforehand.
Once in the scribe’s room, talk to the scribe and choose the option, “Fecit, ordinem in regione ope clavi ferrei.”
Next, go to the pasture and find three oak trees lined up. Examine the middle tree to discover a nail. You have three options for the nail:
- Leaving it in the middle tree will evenly divide the pasture between Tachov and Zhelejov.
- Placing it in the west tree will allocate more land to Tachov.
- Moving it to the east tree will give more land to Zhelejov.
Your choice here is inconsequential to the outcome of ending the feud, so select based on your preference or neutrality. After deciding, speak with Bailiff Thrush again, who will agree to end the feud. Then, bring Prochek or Olbram to the pasture, and you'll successfully resolve their conflict.
Finally, talk to Bailiff Thrush once more to receive the "Master Studies I" book.
This is how you can stop the feud during the "Battle of the Frogs and Mice" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. For more tips and information on the game, be sure to check out The Escapist.
