Letterlike Is a New Word Game That’s Like Balatro But with Scrabble!
Wordsmiths, get ready for a new twist on word games! Letterlike, a roguelike word game, blends the best of Balatro and Scrabble. Prepare for a unique combination of vocabulary challenges and unpredictable roguelike elements – a truly novel experience!
Crafting Words in Letterlike
Letterlike's roguelike nature guarantees a fresh challenge with each playthrough. Every letter combination and challenge is procedurally generated, leading to endless replayability and potential for victory.
Each game begins with a set of letters. Your objective: create meaningful words, accumulate points, and conquer levels. Each level consists of three rounds.
To progress, you must score enough points by forming high-scoring words, similar to Scrabble. However, you only have five attempts (lives) per round, demanding strategic wordplay.
Facing a less-than-ideal letter set? Don't despair! You can discard letters, but this option is limited, so choose wisely.
A handy rearrange mode allows you to drag, drop, and shuffle letters to optimize your word creation.
Letterlike adds a strategic layer in the final round of each level by rendering certain letters useless, awarding zero points.
Earned points and rewards can be spent on power-ups to enhance your gameplay. Some buffs are automatically applied, while others unlock upon reaching specific levels. Collected gems also unlock powerful upgrades, easing future runs.
Ready to Give It a Try?
Letterlike offers a simple, minimalist, yet engaging experience. The game allows replaying specific runs with friends using shared seeds – share your cursed letter combinations and let your friends experience the frustration!
The game is ad-free with a one-time purchase and offers offline play. A free demo version is available for those who want to test the waters. Find Letterlike on the Google Play Store and give the demo a try!
