In an interview with IGN, Konami producer Noriaki Okamura hinted at the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots (MGS4) remake within MGS Master Collection Vol. 2, alongside next-gen ports. While acknowledging the considerable fan interest in bringing the PS3 exclusive to modern platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC), Okamura remained cautious about confirming specifics. He cited ongoing internal discussions about the series' future as the reason for his reticence.

The possibility of an MGS4 remake within Master Collection Vol. 2 has been a topic of much discussion among fans. The successful release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, featuring remastered versions of the first three games for various platforms including PC and Switch, has only amplified this anticipation.
