MindsEye Dev Seeks Patience, Vows Big Day-One Update
Build A Rocket Boy, the developer behind MindsEye, is urging fans to hold off on playing until the official release date after some players obtained physical copies a week early and shared their early impressions on social media.
Twitter user @MrHazel88 posted images of a MindsEye disc along with critical tweets describing the game as a "technical disaster."

With MindsEye officially launching June 10, the developer responded to early leaks by asking players to refrain from spoilers and confirming a crucial day-one update to optimize the experience.
This major update for physical copies includes "essential improvements to deliver MindsEye as intended, showcasing all characters at their best," according to Build A Rocket Boy.
The studio emphasized that MindsEye relies heavily on narrative surprises and emotional payoffs: "We want everyone to discover the story simultaneously on launch day without preconceptions."

The premature launch exemplifies recent challenges for Build A Rocket Boy. Last week, co-CEO Mark Gerhard alleged an organized campaign to undermine the game's reputation via paid criticism and bot activity, sparking debate among fans on Discord.
The studio faced further scrutiny when its Chief Legal Officer and CFO departed unexpectedly days before launch, raising concerns within its growing community.
MindsEye arrives June 10, 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam/Epic. Blending GTA, Watch Dogs, and Cyberpunk elements with user-generated content (dubbed "AAA Minecraft"), it features:
- A $59.99 base game with story campaign and single-player free roam
- Launch missions including "Destruction Site Shootout" (horde mode) and combat scenarios "Honor Among Thieves"/"Friendly Fire"
- Six standard races, six checkpoint races, and three drone races
- Premium pass bonuses: additional horde mission and exotic cosmetics
Post-launch, Build A Rocket Boy promises monthly premium content drops to evolve the experience, combining developer-made missions with standout community creations. The 2025 roadmap includes:
- Summer: Community updates + new missions
- Fall: New solo modes + multiplayer
- Winter: Free roam enhancements
