Morikomori Life: Ghibli-Inspired Rural Sim Launched in Japan
Morikomori Life is now available on Android and iOS exclusively in Japan, published by Realfun Studio. Previously released in China by Level Infinite under Tencent Games, that version was discontinued roughly a year ago.
A Cozy Return to Rural Sim Gaming
The game’s standout feature is its breathtaking visuals, capturing a warm, anime-inspired aesthetic reminiscent of Studio Ghibli’s iconic style. Far from AI-generated art, the scenes evoke the charm of a Ghibli animated film.
In the story, you embody Kaon, a young Japanese girl summoned by a mysterious letter from her grandmother to return to her childhood village, Komori. There, you rediscover the joys of a tranquil rural life, with vibrant 3D toon-shaded Japanese landscapes that feel strikingly authentic.
Don’t just take our word for it—check out the Morikomori Life trailers below to see the magic for yourself!
Morikomori Life Embraces Serene, Slow-Paced Adventures
This slice-of-life game revolves around everyday activities like farming, cooking, fishing, hunting, and crafting your own home. Gather resources like wood and ore, or uncover rare materials while exploring the vibrant world.
As you collect resources, you can upgrade your home, expand your lifestyle, and customize Kaon’s appearance to match your style. Befriend villagers, cook meals with foraged ingredients, and lend a hand with local tasks.
Morikomori Life offers deep character customization and an open-world setting, letting you roam freely and discover delightful surprises. Currently available on Android in Japan via the Google Play Store, a global release date remains unconfirmed.
