Path of Exile 2 Delirium Guide: Fog Mechanics, Passives, Rewards

Apr 13,25

In Path of Exile 2, the Atlas map is home to several endgame events, including Rituals, Breaches, Expeditions, and Delirium. The latter, inspired by the original Path of Exile's Delirium League, brings a unique challenge and rewarding experience to the endgame. This guide delves into the specifics of starting a Delirium event, what to anticipate during these encounters, how to unlock the Simulacrum Delirium Pinnacle map, navigating the Delirium Passive Skill Tree, and the rewards you can earn from completing these thrilling challenges in PoE 2.

PoE 2 Delirium & Fog Mechanic, Explained

When exploring the Atlas screen, map nodes with guaranteed endgame events are clearly marked with distinctive icons. Nodes containing a Delirium Mirror are identified by a white and black icon resembling the Delirium Mirror. To ensure Delirium events on your map nodes, you can slot a Delirium Precursor Tablet into a Lost Tower.

Upon entering a Delirium map, you'll find the Delirium Mirror near your spawn point. This mirror appears as multicolored shattered glass, and as you approach, a ghostly energy will connect from your character to the mirror. To initiate the Delirium encounter, simply walk into the mirror, which will then spawn a vast circle of Fog around you.

This Fog circle will traverse the map, with enemy difficulty escalating the deeper you venture. However, stepping outside the Fog will end the Delirium encounter and revert the map to its normal state.

Within the Delirium Fog, enemies are enhanced and may drop special Delirium rewards such as Distilled Emotions, useful for crafting, and Simulacrum Splinters, which are essential for summoning the Pinnacle Boss. Encountering a Fractured Mirror within the map can trigger a wave of mobs and additional loot.

During a Delirium event, you might randomly face two bosses, Kosis and Omniphobia. These are not mere Rare enemies but full-fledged bosses with their own health bars. Be prepared, as they can also appear during the Pinnacle event for Delirium, though they are not considered Pinnacle bosses themselves.

Delirium Pinnacle Event: Simulacrum

Each endgame event in PoE 2 offers items that help summon a Pinnacle Boss. In Delirium encounters, enemies at high Waystone tiers may drop Simulacrum Splinters. Collecting 300x Simulacrum Splinters allows you to combine them into a Simulacrum, which you can then place in the Realmgate.

Upon activation, you'll be transported to the Simulacrum for a 15-wave-long encounter that intensifies in difficulty. Delirium bosses have an increased chance of spawning as you progress through these waves. Successfully completing the Simulacrum rewards you with 2x Delirium Passive points.

Delirium Passive Skill Tree

The Delirium Passive Skill Tree, found within the Atlas Passive Skill tree, enhances the Delirium event by adding modifiers that either increase rewards or extend the event's mechanics. To view your Delirium passives, open the Atlas Map, access the Atlas Passive Skill Tree via the top-left button, and navigate to the top right section of the tree.

Characterized by its white coloration and mirror-shaped design, this tree features eight Notable nodes and eight nodes that heighten Simulacrum event difficulty. Each time you conquer a Simulacrum, you earn 2x Delirium Passive Skill points, pushing you to challenge higher difficulties for new Notable nodes.

PoE 2 Delirium Event Rewards

In Delirium encounters, enemies affected by the Fog may drop Distilled Emotions. Bosses defeated in both Delirium and Simulacrum events typically yield these unique Currencies as well.

Distilled Emotions can be combined to Anoint your Amulet with innate Notable Passive Skills, saving you from spending Passive Skill Points to reach desired nodes. To Anoint, hover over a Notable Passive node to find the required combination of Distilled Emotions, then right-click any Distilled Emotion to access the Instilling window. Place your Amulet in the top slot and the correct Distilled Emotions in the bottom slots to achieve the desired Anoint.

Additionally, Distilled Emotions can enhance Waystones by adding a guaranteed percentage of the Delirious debuff, boosting the number and strength of mobs within the Delirium Fog.

Enemies may also drop Simulacrum Splinters, which, when combined into a Simulacrum, can be slotted into the Realmgate to access a special 15-wave Simulacrum event. Completing this event not only grants Delirium Passive points but also guarantees a unique piece of equipment exclusive to the Delirium event.
