Can You Date People in Fields of Mistria?
Fields of Mistria: Can You Actually Date the Romance Options?
While Fields of Mistria is lauded for its well-developed romance options and engaging storylines, the ability to go on official "dates" with them is currently limited. Technically, no, you can't engage in traditional dating sequences. However, the existing romance system is robust and rewarding, justifying the game's price point.
The November 2024 update significantly enhanced the romance system, increasing the maximum relationship level from four hearts to six and introducing new heart events for each romanceable NPC. These events, featuring playable cutscenes, unlock at two, four, and six hearts, with plans for eight and ten-heart events in future updates. However, the March 2025 update will not include further heart level increases or new events.

Despite the absence of explicit dating mechanics, the existing romance system shines due to its realistic and flirty dialogue. Even early interactions, while potentially platonic on the surface, are ambiguous enough to foster romantic interpretations, creating a satisfyingly gradual progression.
A key addition in the last major update was the Shooting Star Festival, a summer event allowing players with four hearts to initiate a date-like experience with their chosen romance option. While a similar interaction with Caldarus exists, it currently lacks the full "date" experience seen with other characters. This may change with the March 2025 update, which is slated to introduce Caldarus's full romance questline.
In conclusion, while official dating isn't fully implemented, Fields of Mistria offers a compelling and deeply engaging romance system that will keep players invested until the feature's complete arrival.
