Bethesda Urged to Patch Oblivion Remaster

Players of Oblivion Remastered are still waiting for a new patch, one month after the game’s launch. Discover what the community is hoping to see in future updates and why console gamers are in greater need of this patch.
Oblivion Remastered Has Not Received a Patch Yet
Fans Are Awaiting an Update

It has been over a month since The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was released, yet developer Bethesda has remained silent regarding upcoming fixes. This lack of communication has led to growing concern among fans on Reddit, who have voiced both their frustrations and a list of desired improvements.
It's worth noting that Bethesda issued a hotfix just three days after the game’s launch, though this update introduced new problems. According to multiple sources, the hotfix temporarily removed certain upscaling options. A later patch aimed to resolve the issue, though some players reported that enabling upscaling still required a cumbersome workaround.

Beyond these issues, players are still waiting for new updates, especially given the persistence of various bugs. One particularly troublesome bug occurs during the Kvatch quest, where players become soft-locked and cannot progress. Although the community has found a temporary fix, the developers have yet to officially address the problem.
Despite the radio silence, many remain hopeful that Bethesda will release a patch soon. Some fans have even shared a wishlist of features for future updates, such as inventory subcategories, better controller shortcuts, and additional gameplay refinements.
Console Players Are More Affected

While all players have valid reasons to request an update, console gamers face more severe issues. As previously reported, the PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game tend to experience worsening performance over extended play sessions.
These problems appear to stem from a memory management issue on consoles, causing consistent stuttering and glitches in certain areas of the game world. Bethesda has not yet commented on the matter, forcing players to rely on community-generated workarounds.
A few weeks ago, Bethesda opened a dedicated suggestions channel for Oblivion on their official Discord server. They are encouraging players to submit feedback and share ideas for potential improvements.
Oblivion Remastered Player Paralyzed for 66 In-Game Years

In other news, one player encountered an unusual glitch that left their character paralyzed for a remarkably long duration. In a May 20 Reddit post, user Vaverka shared their experience of being paralyzed for 2,097,762,304 seconds—equivalent to 66 in-game years.
This paralysis was self-inflicted, and Vaverka humorously noted that the duration exceeded Emperor Uriel Septim’s reign in the Elder Scrolls lore. While many have asked how to replicate the spell, Vaverka has yet to share the method or formula.

As players continue to explore the game—and uncover its bugs—the current version feels like a reflection of the original, released two decades ago. Fans are simply hoping that Bethesda will act soon to address ongoing issues and enhance the gaming experience. Ideally, a patch will arrive before Vaverka’s paralysis spell finally wears off.
