Pokémon TCG Pocket's card art has captivated players, but recently discovered details reveal hidden connections to the Game Boy games. Reddit user asch_win initiated this discovery by highlighting Spearow's card, showcasing landmarks resembling Celadon City Department Store and Route 16 from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

This intentional referencing of classic games isn't isolated. jteede uncovered further links, including a Diglett card near Vermillion City and a Haunter card by Lavender Town's tower. asch_win also identified location references on several Supporter cards.

Many cards depict Pokémon in fantastical settings, some mirroring real-world collectible cards, while others are unique to Pokémon TCG Pocket. These hidden Easter eggs have sparked a community-wide investigation. Discoveries include the S.S. Anne on a Gyarados card and a trio of Oddish, Venonat, and Bellsprout cards forming a scene reminiscent of the seaside Snorlax encounter in FireRed and LeafGreen.

With only one additional expansion, Mythical Island, released since October, the hunt for hidden references continues. Future expansions, Wonder Pick Events, and updates will likely unveil further connections as Creatures Inc. and DeNA expand the card collection across generations.

Currently, a Wonder Pick event featuring Charmander and Squirtle is underway. Players are also debating the impact of pack choice on card rarity.
