Pokemon Sleep Starts Transition to Pokemon Works as Main Developer
Pokémon Sleep's development is transitioning from Select Button to Pokémon Works. This article details the change and its potential implications.
Pokémon Sleep Development Shifts to Pokémon Works
From Select Button to Pokémon Works
Following the establishment of Pokémon Works, a new subsidiary of The Pokémon Company in March, Pokémon Sleep's development and future updates are shifting from Select Button to this new entity.
An in-app announcement (translated) revealed the transition, stating that development and operation will gradually move from Select Button Co., Ltd. to Pokémon Works. The announcement appeared in the Japanese version of the app; its global rollout remains unconfirmed.
Pokémon Works' current projects are largely unknown. However, their website states they are a collaborative venture between The Pokémon Company and Iruka Co., Ltd. They share a Tokyo location with ILCA, known for their work on Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, and have also contributed to Pokémon HOME.
Representative Director Takuya Iwasaki's greeting highlights Pokémon Works' goal to make Pokémon experiences more real and accessible. How this vision will shape Pokémon Sleep's future is yet to be seen.
