Bloodmoon Island, a mysterious region nestled in the northern expanse of Reaper's Coast, presents a unique challenge for adventurers in Divinity: Original Sin 2. Encircled by a lethal shroud of Deathfog and severed from the mainland by a destroyed bridge, reaching this enigmatic island seems daunting. Yet, exploring Bloodmoon Island is crucial for deepening the main plot and unlocking additional side quests. Here's how you can navigate the perilous journey to this isolated locale and progress in the game.

Spirit Vision Shows The Way

Bloodmoon Island was once accessible via a bridge from Reaper's Coast, located northeast of Cloisterwood, near the haunts of Jahan and Witch Alice. Although the bridge now lies in ruins, reaching the island remains possible. Upon arriving at the bridge, you'll find the Driftwood Fields waypoint. Here, casting Spirit Vision will unveil the broken sections of the bridge, revealing a path fraught with trapped segments.

To traverse this spirit bridge, consider the following strategies:

  1. Gloves of Teleportation: Obtained in the game's first act, these gloves allow you to teleport without needing the skill. Use them to transport each companion across the bridge, albeit laboriously.

  2. Translocation Skills: Skills such as Phoenix Dive, Cloak and Dagger, and Tactical Retreat enable teleportation, making them invaluable for crossing the broken bridge. Note, however, that not all party members may possess these skills.

  3. Teleporter Pyramids: These artifacts, found in sets of four, facilitate warping between pyramids. Place one pyramid in a companion's inventory who can use translocation skills to cross the bridge. Once they reach the other side, the rest of the party can warp to their location.

  4. Fast Travel: Alternatively, a companion with translocation skills can cross the bridge, discover the Bloodmoon Island waypoint, and allow the rest of the party to fast travel directly to the island.

Take The Ferry Across The Deathfog

For parties including Fane, an undead character immune to Deathfog, an additional route to Bloodmoon Island becomes viable. Northwest of Cloisterwood lies a pier where an undead ferryman awaits. He offers to ferry your party across the Deathfog, but beware—his offer is a ruse that will claim the lives of all but Fane.

If Fane takes the ferry alone, he will safely reach Bloodmoon Island, where he can then discover the waypoint and allow the rest of the party to fast travel to him.

Taking The Ferry Without Fane In The Party

Should your party lack Fane, yet you wish to use the ferry, Teleporter Pyramids can still aid your journey:

  1. Separate a party member equipped with a Teleporter Pyramid to board the ferry.
  2. Upon arriving dead on Bloodmoon Island's pier, use the second pyramid from the rest of the party to warp to the deceased companion.
  3. Revive the fallen party member with a resurrection spell or scroll, reuniting your team.

For parties without Fane, taking the bridge is the safest and quickest method to reach Bloodmoon Island.

Remember, avoid attacking the Undead Ferryman unless prepared for retaliation. A quick save before any confrontation is advisable. Defeating him yields a Soothing Cold skillbook, an ordinary belt, and 3,750 XP.
