Round one of the PUBG Mobile World Cup is complete, with the main event coming soon
PUBG Mobile World Cup Stage One Concludes: 12 Teams Advance to Finals
The first stage of the PUBG Mobile World Cup, part of the larger Gamers8 Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia, has concluded. The initial field of 24 teams has been reduced to 12, setting the stage for a thrilling final showdown. These 12 teams will compete for a share of the $3 million prize pool.
For those unfamiliar with the event, the Esports World Cup is a Gamers8 spin-off designed to showcase major esports titles in Saudi Arabia. PUBG Mobile is among the games featured, with Alliance currently leading the pack.
Following this weekend's intense competition, the qualifying teams will enjoy a one-week break before returning for the final stage, scheduled for July 27th and 28th.
Global Impact and Future Events:
While the PUBG Mobile World Cup's overall impact remains to be seen, its announcement generated significant buzz. It's important to note, however, that this tournament isn't the largest event on the PUBG Mobile esports calendar. With other major events planned for 2024, the World Cup's prominence might be somewhat eclipsed.
The 12 eliminated teams will have another chance to compete in the Survival Stage on July 23rd and 24th. Two teams will emerge victorious from this stage, earning a place in the main event finals. This promises to be a highly competitive and exciting event.
