With an aggregate score of 91 on Metacritic, based on 84 critic reviews, Split Fiction has earned the coveted "Metacritic Must-Play" designation. This universal acclaim marks a significant milestone for EA, whose last title to reach this benchmark was Mass Effect 3 in 2012 (scoring a 93). Subsequent EA releases, including Battlefield (2016), It Takes Two (2021), and Dead Space (2023), all received high praise but fell just short of the 90+ mark.

Further solidifying its success, Split Fiction boasts a 90 on OpenCritic, earning a "Mighty" rating from the site.
