Bloodlines 2 Delayed to October 2025
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 faces yet another postponement, with its launch now rescheduled for October 2025.
This latest setback arrives after years of development turbulence, quietly announced within a recent update video from publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. While only pushing the anticipated sequel's release a few months beyond its intended first-half 2025 window, developers confirm the core game is now complete.
"The game is currently in its finished state," explained Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Executive Producer Marco Behrmann. "Our team is now focused entirely on bug fixes, stability improvements, and performance optimization to ensure players receive the best possible experience at launch."
A Troubled Development Journey Continues
While this newest delay adds to fan disappointment after years of setbacks, the announcement video contained encouraging updates. The Chinese Room revealed expanded narrative content, deeper character development, and an enhanced role for protagonist Fabien since their last major preview.
Notably, the studio cautioned that development updates would become less frequent moving forward, despite maintaining player engagement through regular dev diaries throughout production.
A Decade of Setbacks
The vampire RPG's troubled history stretches back to its initial 2019 announcement by original developer Hardsuit Labs, targeting Q1 2020 release. Since then, the project has endured:
- A 2020 delay pushing launch to late that year
- Further postponements into 2021
- Major restructuring and staff reductions in March 2021
- The 2023 developer transition to The Chinese Room
- Multiple subsequent schedule adjustments
Now under new creative leadership following Still Wakes the Deep's success, The Chinese Room maintains confidence in their October 2025 target. Paradox Interactive has hinted that successful Bloodlines 2 performance could see a different studio helm the potential Bloodlines 3.
After twenty years since the cult-classic original's release, whether this sequel will finally satisfy fans remains uncertain, but developers express cautious optimism about their October launch plans.
