New Information About Blades of Fire
The developers at MercurySteam, alumni of Rebel Act Studios, bring their rich experience from working on the cult classic Severance: Blade of Darkness. Released in 2001, this game was notable for its groundbreaking combat system that allowed players to sever enemies' limbs, introducing a level of brutality and realism to the gameplay. This innovative approach served as a key inspiration for MercurySteam's new project.
In developing their new game, the team at MercurySteam also took inspiration from modern action-adventure titles. A prime example is the cinematic combat and richly detailed world of the God of War reboot by Santa Monica Studio. Their aim was to fuse fast-paced action with RPG elements, creating a deeply engaging and immersive gaming experience.
A standout feature of Blades of Fire is its unique weapon crafting system. Players can forge their own blades, customizing aspects like length, weight, durability, and balance. This system allows players to tailor their weapons to suit their individual combat styles, enhancing the personal touch to the gameplay.
The narrative of Blades of Fire centers around the warrior Aran de Lira, who embarks on a quest against a cunning queen with the power to turn metal into stone. Throughout his journey, Aran will encounter 50 different types of enemies, each demanding a unique strategy to defeat.
Blades of Fire is set to launch on May 22, 2025, and will be available on PC via the Epic Games Store, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5, promising players a thrilling and customizable adventure.
