Elden Ring: Nightreign Omits Beloved Feature
Elden Ring: Nightreign will omit the in-game messaging feature previously common in FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's shorter, approximately forty-minute play sessions. The limited playtime makes sending and reading messages impractical.
This change is notable, given the significant role messaging played in enhancing player interaction and enjoyment in past FromSoftware games. However, the development team deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign's design.
To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign features a separate narrative. It offers a distinct adventure with fresh challenges and encounters, while retaining the signature atmosphere and complexity of the Elden Ring world.
