Monster Hunter Wilds: New PC Benchmark and System Requirements Revealed
With Monster Hunter Wilds just weeks away, Capcom has launched a PC benchmark tool on Steam, enabling players to gauge their system's readiness for the game. This comes alongside a notable adjustment to the game's PC system requirements, which have now been officially lowered.
The PC benchmark for Monster Hunter Wilds, as announced in yesterday's Capcom Spotlight, is currently live on Steam. Upon loading, the tool will compile shaders, but otherwise, it's straightforward to use and assess your computer's performance. Given the updated system requirements, it's wise to test your setup to see how these changes might impact your gameplay experience.
Previously, to achieve 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled, the requirements included an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060, or AMD Radeon RX 6700XT graphics card; an Intel Core i5-11600K, Intel Core i5-12400, AMD Ryzen 5 3600X, or AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU; and 16 GB of RAM.
Now, according to the updated page alongside the benchmark, the new recommended system requirements for 1080p (FHD) at 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled are as follows:
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit required) / Windows 11 (64-bit required)
Processor: Intel Core i5-10400 / Intel Core i3-12100 / AMD Ryzen 5 3600
Memory: 16 GB
Graphics Card (GPU): GeForce RTX 2060 Super / Radeon RX 6600 (8 GB VRAM)
Storage: 75 GB (SSD required)
These updated specifications should allow Monster Hunter Wilds to run smoothly at 1080p and 60 frames per second with Frame Generation enabled. The adjustments represent a modest yet significant reduction in the required hardware.

Users have reported improved performance in the benchmark compared to the beta test, particularly with Frame Generation enabled. However, the Steam Deck may not be up to the task; while my gaming rig passed the test effortlessly, my attempt on the Deck yielded less promising results.
Another significant change is the reduced storage requirement. Previously, Monster Hunter Wilds demanded 140 GB of SSD space, but it's now down to 75 GB. This reduction is surprising, especially as game file sizes typically increase annually.
