Squad Busters nets 40 million installs in first thirty days, and $24m in net revenue

Squad Busters, Supercell's latest MOBA RTS, has made a notable impact with over 40 million installs and $24 million in net revenue within its first thirty days. The game has been particularly popular in the United States, leading the pack in player numbers, followed by Indonesia, Brazil, Turkey, and South Korea.

However, these figures, while impressive, raise some concerns for Supercell. Since its launch, there has been a noticeable decline in spending. The $24 million net revenue pales in comparison to the $43 million that Brawl Stars generated in its first month back in 2018, and the $115 million that Clash Royale achieved in 2016. Even more concerning is the trend in installs, which peaked at 30 million in the first week but dropped below five million by the end of the thirty-day period.

Is There Too Much Supercell? Supercell's recent releases are showing signs of diminishing returns, even for a highly anticipated game like Squad Busters. For context, our sister site PocketGamer.biz notes that Honkai Star Rail earned $190 million in its first month, significantly outpacing Squad Busters.

While Squad Busters is undoubtedly a great game, it firmly fits into the established niche of Supercell titles. This raises the question: Is there a growing fatigue among the mobile gaming audience towards Supercell's offerings? It's a possibility that we'll need to monitor as Squad Busters progresses.
