inZOI to Remove Denuvo DRM

The inZOI development team has confirmed the removal of Denuvo DRM from the upcoming game. This decision follows reports over the last day that a demo for the Creative Studio mode contained the controversial anti-tamper software, which has long been criticized by players for its potential impact on game performance.
Denuvo is a digital rights management (DRM) and anti-tamper technology intended to combat the piracy and unauthorized distribution of PC games by making them harder to crack.
Addressing the community in a Steam blog post on March 26, inZOI Director Hyungjun 'Kjun' Kim stated that the Early Access version launching on Friday will be DRM-free. "We initially implemented Denuvo to protect the game from illegal distribution, believing it would ensure fairness for our paying players. However, after reviewing community feedback, we recognized this decision did not align with what our players expect from us," Kjun explained.

He also apologized for not communicating clearly that Denuvo was present in the Creative Studio demo. Kjun acknowledged that while removing DRM might increase the risk of piracy, it is essential for enabling the free customization and creative freedom that are core to inZOI's vision. "We believe fostering this openness from the start will lead to more innovative and enduring experiences for our community," he said.
inZOI's Commitment to Being a Highly Moddable Game

Modding support has always been a key pillar of inZOI's design, which made the inclusion of restrictive DRM particularly confusing for the community, as it can hinder the ability to install mods and custom content.
Kjun reinforced this commitment, stating, "As shared during our Online Showcase, we are dedicated to making inZOI a deeply moddable experience. Our first phase of official mod support launches in May, giving players tools to import custom content created in software like Maya and Blender. This is just the foundation. We plan to continually expand mod support across more aspects of the game, empowering you to personalize and enhance your gameplay in numerous ways."
He mentioned that a dedicated post with more modding details will follow. Krafton, the publisher, continues to emphasize a player-first approach, actively listening to feedback and making adjustments to deliver the best possible experience.
inZOI enters Early Access on PC on March 28, 2025. The full launch is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, though a specific release date for the complete version has not yet been announced.
