Mo.co by Supercell earns $2.5M in under a month
Supercell’s upcoming multiplayer title, Mo.co, has already made waves despite still being in its soft launch phase. According to recent revenue estimates compiled by Pocketgamer.biz, the game has surpassed $2.5 million since its initial release in select regions—an impressive feat for a title yet to officially launch.
But what exactly is Mo.co? In essence, it blends modern millennial aesthetics with monster-hunting gameplay reminiscent of Monster Hunter. Players step into the shoes of a stylish, part-time hunter who takes on contracts to eliminate otherworldly threats. The game also leans heavily into cosmetic customization and collectible rewards—features that have clearly resonated with players during the early stages.
The initial revenue spike could be attributed to this robust gacha-style progression system and the allure of exclusive cosmetics. However, some analysts speculate that the lack of new content updates during the invite-only soft launch may have contributed to a decline in momentum after reaching that peak.
A pattern of promise
This situation isn’t unusual for Supercell. The Finnish developer is known for its unique approach to mobile development: launching titles early, closely monitoring performance, and either scaling successful games globally or discontinuing underperforming ones altogether.
Titles like Brawl Stars and Squad Busters started slow but eventually gained traction through consistent content updates. Conversely, projects such as Flood Rush and Everdale were shuttered before they ever reached a full release.
With Mo.co showing strong early numbers, there's reason to believe Supercell will continue investing in its development—especially if new content can reinvigorate player spending. While the game remains in a closed state for now, fans remain hopeful for a global release in the near future.
